Before you start
  • Read every step in full before beginning any wiring or drilling.
  • Disconnect the battery negative terminal before making any connections.
  • Two-person job recommended when feeding the loom through the headlining and A-pillar.
  • Always verify door-sensor polarity (Section 2.4) with a multimeter before connecting — incorrect polarity will not trigger the warning lights correctly.

Tip: to make loom installation easier, cut it at the white tag markers, feed it through the bus, then rejoin using the supplied 3-pin connectors.

Signage & lights

1.1 — Front signage & lights

  1. Start by temporarily putting the School Bus sign on the front of the bus. Slide part of the sign behind the rubber grommets around the windscreen wipers. See Fig 2.
  2. From the inside of the bus, stick the SB001B lights on the windscreen being careful to avoid the windscreen wipers. See Fig 2.
  3. Remove the driver's side A-pillar and run the cables from the lights to the driver's side A-pillar area. The cables fit neatly in between the plastic dash and rubber gasket.
  4. On the outside of the bus, align the School Bus sign to be the same distance from both lights and stick the sign on the bus

1.2 — Rear signage & rear lights

  1. To align the signage, measure & stick the signage from the bottom of the right side rear glass:
    30cm from the bottom
    13cm from the left hand side of the glass
    See Fig 3 as a reference
  2. On the inside of the bus, stick the lights on either side of the signage
  3. Connect the lights to the main loom using the supplied 2-pin connectors

Wiring

2.1 — Front to back

  1. Remove the plastic trim on the left side of the dash, in front of the passenger seat. Remove one screw on the bottom left and one plastic clip on the side of the trim.
  2. Remove the trim on the A-Pillar on the driver's side.
  3. Run the loom from the fuse area to the driver's side A-pillar, then to the rear of the bus through the headlining or air vents. This is typically the point where the loom is cut and rejoined with the 3-pin connectors.
  4. At the rear of the bus, the loom may also be cut to ease passage through to the rear lights

2.2 — Glove box area

  1. Below the plastic trim on the left side of the dash, connect the black GND wire to ground.
  2. One power option is the fusebox. Connect the red +V wire to a fuse in the fuse box. Check with a multimeter for ignition power.
  3. Connect the supplied 6-way connector to the switching box.

2.3 — Door sensor

On the left side of the dash access the door control relay. Locate the green wire (NOT the green wire with white tracer) and confirm that the wire is pulled low when the door is open. Connect the green wire to the brown wire on the loom. See Fig 5.
Note: on certain Rosa models a blocking diode may be required.

2.4 — Switch

  1. Using an 18–20mm hole saw, cut a hole in the dash and insert the supplied switch. See Fig 4 for suggested position.
    Note: Make sure the location chosen has enough space behind to fit the barrel of the switch.
  2. Connect the switch to the grey connector
